Frequently asked questions
What devices can you accept?
Phones, computers, external hard drives, USB drives, memory cards, and most DVDs and CDs. Let us know what you have during your estimate and we can confirm whether we can read it.
Do you delete duplicate files?
We identify likely duplicates and flag them for your review, but identifying a duplicate is not the same as deleting it. Any removal is your decision, not something that happens automatically.
Will you alter my originals?
Normal processing preserves your original files — we copy first, then organize the copies. We would not make an exception to that without discussing it with you first.
Can you recover a physically damaged drive?
Not directly. Physically damaged media — a drive that won't spin up, or visibly damaged discs — is generally referred to a specialist data-recovery service. We do not guarantee any recovery outcome.
Can I receive everything on my own external drive?
Yes. If you provide a drive with enough capacity, we can deliver your finished archive to it. We can also provide delivery media if you prefer.
Do you keep a copy?
By default, no — the delivered archive is yours and we don't retain a copy. If you'd like us to keep a backup on your behalf, that's an optional service with its own separate agreement and pricing.
Can you organize Apple Photos or Google Photos exports?
Yes. Exports from Apple Photos, Google Photos, and similar services are common intake sources and can be incorporated into your consolidated archive.
Do you offer ongoing backup?
Optional retained backup is available, quoted by storage capacity and how long backups are kept, under a separate agreement from a one-time archive project.
Do you accept mailed devices?
Mailed devices may be possible for some projects — ask about this during your initial estimate so we can discuss safe packaging and handling.
How is privacy handled?
Access to your files is limited to what intake, verification, organization, and delivery require, and your archive is kept separate from unrelated projects. See our full Privacy page for details.
